Spellcasting Insight

Ability Score Increase. Increase your Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma score by 1, to a maximum of 20.

Hedge Magic. You learn one cantrip and one 1st-level spell of your choice from the Wizard or Cleric spell list. The ability score increased by this feat is your spellcasting ability for these spells. You can cast the 1st-level spell without expending a spell slot, and you must finish a Long Rest before doing so again. You can also cast the spell using any spell slots you have. Whenever you gain a new level, you can replace the 1st-level spell with another 1st-level spell from the same lists.

Spell-Cleaver's Riposte. When you take damage from a spell or magical effect, you can use your Reaction to catch and deflect the energy. You reduce the damage taken by 1d6 + your Proficiency Bonus. The residual magic then crackles around you; the next time you hit a creature with an attack before the end of your next turn, the attack deals extra Force damage equal to the amount of damage you reduced. You can use your Spell-Cleaver's Riposte a number of times equal to your Proficiency Bonus. You regain all expended uses when you finish a Long Rest.
